The Kazak M-10 delivers the performance of larger, pricier devices. Even though I found some things to complain about I like this sharpener quite a bit. I did not call out Kazak on this because when I asked I was told they will have retail packaging available in the next 1-2 months. kaz...

Junk! The company is Lithuanian. The knife is manufactured in China. It is dull and burred directly out of the box. It is made from the same metal they make pots and pans out of. It is absolute junk! Do not purchase!

What are you using to heat it with? Are there gases involved? This could be why it’s crumbling… wrong gas..? (It doesn’t likes Hydrogen, try argon)

So much steel is losen😢 With a hammer and a anvil you could use half of the steel you'r using.

You might could use those small hose clamps with a split piece of hose in them placed above and below the slide, but that's alot of money for 2 sharpeners missing parts.

Nice I liked the way you were able to show moving the steel for the heel radius ..nice job there. I like 1095 because its the top end of forge heat treat steels...fiddly to get right sometimes but you don't necessarily need ovens and all the other stuff just good temperature control and quenching to get really decent results. looking forward to the next video Thanks for sharing

I still use some 1095, but only when someone asks for it specifically. I mostly use 80CRV2 now, with occasional 15N20 for kitchen knives. I am going to try my first hamon with a couple kitchen blades in W2 with my next batch of blades.

I use 1095 a lot. It's very forgiving and easy to work with. It's also a little more easily available than a lot of other blade steels.

1095 has been my favorite for like 10 years since i started bladesmithing as a kid. at first bc it was cheap and accesable, but now as an adult, Its alot easier to understand the simpler steels. Theres no weird implications that i have to think about when considering edge geometries or use cases. I also find that since we already understand it so well its super verastile with the heat treatment and temper, you can go shallow hardened in oil for a camp knife, through hardened in water for a chefs knife, or for a chopper differential temper with a torch if you want. its really not picky. in my opinion with the use of techinque, It can be optimized for 99% of carbon steel use cases while still having the higher hardness of some of the meduim / upper meduim alloy steels but without all the complecated and tempermental heat treat and temper proceedures. Just a shame its not statainless too haha

The issue I have is that, the people who watch are your fans, and or potential fans. They like what you make and they trust you. If you accept a sponsorship from a company with a bad reputation, lets say for betterhelp, and one of your fans needs help, but they trust what you said because you told them it was a great company blah blah blah in exchange for money. There are a lot of ways to make money in this world. I'm not saying youre a bad person, just trying to give a different perspective. I enjoy your content and I have been a YT Premium subscriber since it was still youtube RED... but I still have to see the sponsors too... It just seems like when EVERYONE starts accepting money from whatever company pays the most then what are we going to end up with as a society? If the advertisements didn't work, they wouldn't be sponsoring you. I just think it would be better if more people didn't sell their morals and values for a quick buck. These are your viewers, your fans, the people who support you.

I would be too scared to even try making a go out of it, thanks for making the video 👌🏽 If you still have some of the damaged/highly oxidized chunks and you're willing to part with them as your shirt instructs, "acquire currency", I'd be happy to oblige and have a piece of metallurgical history.

One thing that has helped me with a rounded heel is putting the piece in a vice, tip down, and upsetting the heel from the back. It helps square it up and gives you more mass to get more height at the heel as well.

I think, take an angle grinder to the base and buy a clamp if you want to use this on larger knives, obviously not an ideal solution but still a solution
